Ureteral Cancer
Diagnosis and surgical treatment of cancers of the ureter and upper urinary tract.
Ureteral cancer care
The ureters are the tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder. Cancers of the ureter and renal pelvis (upper tract urothelial carcinoma) are uncommon and are related to bladder cancer. They are often found during the work-up of blood in the urine or a blockage seen on imaging.
How Dr. Uhr can help
- Cystoscopy and ureteroscopy to visualize and biopsy the upper urinary tract
- Surgical removal of the affected ureter and kidney when needed
- Long-term surveillance of the bladder and remaining urinary tract
